Cost work engineer (m/f/d)

Your Duties:

  • Responsible to generate, promote, and evaluate innovative ideas across all the series released products, to reduce product costs, without compromising the product functionality, quality, safety and performance
  • Responsible to analyze designs, materials and manufacturing processes to suggest alternatives
  • Create design concepts, implement design changes and manage new releases in PLM systems
  • Strong and effective collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing teams, as well as Suppliers across multiple global locations
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for design alternatives and stimate ideal cost of a product based on materials, processes and logistics
  • Use VA/VE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) methodology to prioritize improvement projects
  • Benchmarking products and processes with industry best practices and ensure proposed changes meet regulatory, quality, and safety standards
  • Accountable to drive the cost reduction measures from ideation until commercial validation of the business case, following the Project's Implementation Level Process
  • Support to track project milestones, deliverables, and savings achieved and support to prepare business cases and cost proposals for acquiring approvals in the Steerco
  • Maintain and report detailed documentation of VAVE activities and outcomes timely

Your Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed technical or scientific degree
  • Solid experience in engineering design and VAVE
  • Understanding Product design, development, change management, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in CAD tools (PTC Creo and Windchill preferably), SAP, VAVE, Cost estimation tools, DFMEA, DFM/DFA principles, ISO GD&T standards, and product lifecycle management
  • Working Knowledge of Diesel and Gas Internal Combustion Engines, Generator Systems
  • Capable of Identifying cost-effective and high-performance materials and experience in Cost Breakdown Analysis
  • Capable of handling multiple cost-reduction projects efficiently and convincing teams and suppliers to adopt cost-effective alternatives
  • Openness and ability to build internal and External stakeholder networks
  • Excellent Communication skills and Stakeholder management
  • Good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken
